Built on formulas dietitians actually use

Every number on NutriMeasure comes from a peer-reviewed equation or an authoritative guideline — not a content farm.

  • Mifflin-St Jeor for Basal Metabolic Rate, today's clinical gold standard.
  • Harris-Benedict activity multipliers (1.2–1.9) for converting BMR into daily calorie needs.
  • NHLBI BMI categories for weight-status classification.
  • ~7,700 kcal / kg fat approximation for realistic loss timelines.

Frequently asked questions

Are the NutriMeasure calculators free?+

Yes — every calculator on NutriMeasure is free, requires no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser. We don't store any numbers you enter.

Which formulas do you use?+

BMI uses the standard kg/m² formula. Calories use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation (1990) with the standard Harris-Benedict activity multipliers (1.2–1.9). Ideal weight compares Devine, Robinson, Miller and Hamwi. Deficits assume about 7,700 kcal per kilogram of body fat (Wishnofsky, 1958).

Can I switch between metric and imperial?+

Every calculator supports both. Toggle the unit switch and your entered values convert automatically.

Is my data private?+

Yes. All calculations run on your device. We never send your height, weight or age to a server.
